Real Change for the East Coast

2010

A Hodgman Liberal Government will provide real change for the East Coast in a series of announcements Will Hodgman made in Triabunna this week.

A Hodgman majority Liberal Government committed to provide $100,000 innovation development funding to be accessible by two local ICT companies that recently relocated to Triabunna in order to expand employment in the region.

We will provide $80,000 for a preliminary engineering study into the provision of passing lanes or turn out lanes to deal with the increasing number of motor homes and caravans on the Tasman Highway between Bicheno and Triabunna, and also on the Arthur Highway on the Tasman Peninsula.

We will provide $20,000 to further develop a feasibility study for a major local maritime museum at Triabunna.

We also announced $300,000 for a new and safer intersection of the Coles Bay Road and Tasman Highway.

We expressed concern over the plummeting numbers of tourists to Maria Island, and have indicated our willingness, should Darlington receive World Heritage Listing to consider a Port Arthur style management board to manage the Darlington historic site and Maria Island.
A Hodgman Liberal Government will bring real change to the communities of the East Coast.
