The Tasmanian Conservation Trust’s response to regulations transferring control over land clearing to local government reveals yet another unfunded mandate pushed onto local government.
I am calling on the Minister for Fisheries, David Llewellyn, to explain whether Federal Minister Peter Garrett’s ban on catching mako sharks, as well as the porbeagle shark, will effect Tasmanian game fishers within state waters.
I am demanding that the Government get its house in order before a potentially disastrous summer bushfire season.
The Tasmanian Liberals have moved to assure travellers and Campbell Town businesses that Campbell Town will not be bypassed under a Hodgman Liberal Government and have called for an expansion of parking facilities.
